An Introduction to the man The purpose of this website is to provide a brief overview
of the life and works of the man Sandro Botticelli. Sandro was an Italian painter
that lived during the artistic period now known as the “quattrocento.” He
was born and lived in The Republic of Florence from 1445 A.D. until his death in 1510
A.D. The sister works of La Primavera and The Birth of Venus are considered to be his greatest works, and among the greatest paintings of European art. This website has chosen to focus on The Birth of Venus as his masterpiece. His work has lasted and influenced posterity in a way that is rarely seen
in any artistic discipline or time period; Sandro is widely regarded as one of
the greatest and most influential artists of the Itlaian Renaissance.

An Introduction to the website creatorThe creator of this website is Justin R. Smith. He is currently a sophomore at Belmont University, located in Nashville, TN.
